Judith Tydor Baumel-Schwartz, Director of the Arnold and Leona Finkler Institute of Holocaust Research at Bar-Ilan University, will share the extraordinary story of a religious artifact that survived the horrors of Auschwitz and a Nazi death march. This artifact, a shofar (a ram’s horn that is made into a special wind instrument used during Jewish High Holiday religious services), is on view in the Auschwitz. Not long ago.
