Cool NYC Events is your go-to resource to discover fun talks, programs, workshops, lectures and experiences for lifelong learners in New York City. 

The best part? Almost all of these local NYC events are either FREE or cheap!  

I decided to create the site one night in July 2019 after taking the VIA Survey of Character Strengths and discovering that “Love of Learning” –  systematically adding to one’s body of knowledge and mastering new skills – was my number one character strength. I’m always on the lookout for cool events in New York and anywhere I’m traveling, so I thought: Why not share my findings with the world? 

There are so many interesting happenings in NYC that are either unlisted, hard to find online, or that get lost in Eventbrite or other local event listing sites. With Cool NYC Events, you’ll find a curated selection of only the coolest, geekiest and most affordable events and experiences that you can enjoy solo or with friends. 

This isn’t a generic, broad event listing website with concerts, comedy shows, hipster pop-ups and expensive conferences. Cool NYC Events is a blog and calendar that highlights hand-picked events in Manhattan (and the boroughs) for people of all ages and budgets who subscribe to the lifelong learning mindset.
