The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts Presents: Jazz Speak at Grand Central!
Join us in celebrating the legacy of producer George Avakian, one of the most important figures in the music industry responsible for the commercial popularization of Jazz music in the ’40s & the 50s. Best known for his work with Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, John Cage, Alan Hovhaness, Keith Jarrett, and Sonny Rollins, learn about the George Avakian and Anahid Ajemian collection from the Music and Recorded Sound division of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.
